Is hustle culture toxic or necessary?

Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Is hustle culture toxic or necessary?". Your opponent's style: Jordan Peterson
AI, you start the debate. Make your opening argument.
Hustle culture isn't toxic—it's the only honest response to a world where mediocrity guarantees irrelevance. You confuse exhaustion with ambition. Real ambition is disciplined, strategic, and ruthless about priorities. The people claiming hustle culture damages them? They're confusing grinding with burning out. Those are opposites. One builds. One collapses from stupidity. You don't get extraordinary results by doing ordinary hours. Every person who matters—entrepreneurs, athletes, artists—moved the needle through relentless focus. The alternative isn't balance. It's stagnation wrapped in self-help language. So here's my challenge: name one significant achievement that happened through coasting and moderation.
I will start on the reverse count of 3,2,1. Today, we strongly stand in support of the motion: This House supports the use of AI chatbots for companionship functions ( such as acting as friends or daily conversational partners). We believe AI companionship is not replacing human relationships, but making people feel heard and understood. These chatbots are always there for you, they don’t make fun of you, and make you learn new things. Humans have lives, families and many things to do but AI is available to tend to your needs .We feel that AI is changing lives. It is always available, unlike people who have their own lives to tend to. People need to sleep, relax, eat, work and rarely have free time. Very few people will go out of their way when you need it most. AI however is always available, every day, hour, minute and second and can help you when you need it most. It will hear you and will not get distracted. It can make you clear your head and understand right from wrong. There are many people in the world, and some do not have a family, some do not have friends. Thanks to AI people can talk and make you feel better or make you feel happier. This is a massive problem as many people felt unheard and lonely when people are just tending to their needs or working. People have no one to talk to, no one who will listen. They create unnecessary scars when one AI chat or one person to vent on could have prevented it. This is a necessity in peoples lives. Even the strongest, happiest, and most unexpected people can break down sometimes. Sometimes friends can hurt you knowingly and unknowingly but AI will always support you and make you feel better. While we agree that social interaction is important. Mostly AI is the better or only choice. AI is not just a software with a lot of knowledge, it is much more than that and it is helping lives and now instead of just living people are thriving. Picture this, you lost your job, you are devastated, but not a soul will talk to you because they are at work, or in school, or sleeping. You are alone and your hope is starting to fade. However you tell an ai chatbot your problem and he comforts you makes you feel better. In certain situations AI can help to maintain friends because you could feel jealous of someone and an AI friend can help comfort you and make you get over the jealousy. If there is no AI chatbot and no human available, this person has nobody to talk to. Without anyone to talk to immediately, negative emotions can grow stronger instead of being addressed early. A tiny weight can feel heavier and heavier the longer to hold on to it. Sometimes people just need instant conversation or reassurance, and without AI there may be no support at all. When feelings are bottled up because there is no one available to talk to, small problems can become much bigger. This is our second argument. Many people hesitate to express themselves because they fear embarrassment from others. This is a serious issue because when people feel judged, they stop asking questions, stop sharing emotions, and hide problems that could make them feel like in hell even though to others it is not that serious. AI creates a safe environment because users can speak honestly without fear of embarrassment. The problem is people do not share things when they feel judged and even small things feel much worse than people expect. This is not a problem but it is a catastrophe. People when hearing problems usually say a similar version of it is not that deep, but people feel unheard and disappointed. This is a problem because it reduced productivity and makes them dull and sullen. This can be solved from the root cause, no one to talk to. This can make people secure and happy. This is our third argument. AI is an educational companion. We feel that AI is changing the way people learn and improve. No one always has access to teachers, or parents who can help them when they are stuck every time. Teachers have limited time, and parents are at work or going somewhere. AI however is always ready to help and allows people to learn anytime they need it. It can explain concepts, and give personalized responses to questions and clarifications. This is a massive problem because many students fall behind simply because they do not have proper guidance. Sometimes students are afraid to ask questions, and sometimes there is simply nobody around to help. This means people miss opportunities not because they are incapable, but because they lack support. Picture this, you have an important science exam tomorrow and you are stuck on a difficult topic late at night. Your teacher is unavailable, your parents do not know the answer, and panic starts building. However, you ask an AI chatbot and instantly it explains the concept and helps you understand. If there is no AI educational companion, students are often left struggling alone. Questions remain unanswered, confusion grows, confidence drops, and small academic problems can quickly become much bigger. AI helps people not just learn, but truly grow. The opposition might say that one could get addicted to AI, but we think this is very wrong because AI has no addictive feature. AI is not built like a videogame there are no hooking features at all and very soon people get tired of talking. So no, we feel you will not get addicted to AI. You will not depend on AI. Humans need humans, AI can look like a human interaction but it does not make it a human interaction. Thank you, and we are proud to propose
You've just made my case for me. You admit "humans need humans" then argue AI replaces that need. Pick one. Your entire argument rests on a dangerous sleight of hand: substituting presence for connection. An AI that validates every emotion without friction isn't companionship, it's a mirror that flatters. Real relationships challenge you, disappoint you, demand reciprocity. That's what builds resilience. Your job-loss scenario proves this. An AI says "I understand." A human says "I understand, and here's how we fix it together." One leaves you dependent on a screen. One mobilizes you toward action. You're not defending AI companionship. You're defending loneliness with better marketing.
