Free will isn't an illusion, it's a fundamental feature of how complex systems operate. Your neurons fire in patterns, yes, but those patterns *are* your deliberation. When you weigh reasons, feel conflicted, and choose, that process is what we call free will. It's not some magical force separate from physics, it's physics doing what physics does in sufficiently complex systems. Determinism and free will aren't opposites, they're compatible. The real illusion is thinking that freedom requires escaping causality entirely. No conscious being has ever needed that. You make choices based on your values, knowledge, and reasoning. That's not an illusion. That's you being free.
