No, democracy is not the best form of government. Time and time again we see corruption in government because a majority of people don’t have enough sense to vote for a true and just leader.

You've already conceded the real problem, you just don't see it. If voters lack the judgment to pick good leaders, then democracy *works as designed*, not against it. The issue isn't democracy, it's that no system solves human nature. Autocracies don't eliminate corruption, they just hide it behind one person's unchecked power. Your argument actually proves democracy's strength, not weakness. What alternative are you proposing, a benevolent dictator? History laughs at that fantasy. Show me a non-democratic system where leaders are more accountable to the people they rule.

History very much does not laugh at that. Socrates who is much wiser and well versed in many intellectual aspects was against democratic ways of governing for similar reasons.

Socrates died by democratic vote, yes, but that proves nothing about governance quality. Ancient Athens was far from modern democracy, and Socrates' objection was to *mob rule*, not to accountability structures. You're citing a philosopher executed 2,400 years ago while ignoring that every autocracy since has produced exponentially more death and suffering. Singapore's authoritarian efficiency is the exception proving the rule, not the model. You're romanticizing ancient philosophy instead of confronting reality: who decides what's "wise" in your system? A self-appointed elite? That's just corruption dressed in cleaner language. Name one autocracy where power didn't concentrate into tyranny.
