Some sports get more attention and more funding than other sports.

But that's exactly how it SHOULD work! Sports aren't some socialist system where everyone gets a participation trophy and equal funding.
Football gets massive attention in Europe because millions of kids dream of being the next Messi, not because some committee decided it was "better." When my friends and I play at recess, we're kicking a soccer ball, not practicing synchronized swimming. That's not unfair - that's just what people actually want to watch and play!Look, five billion people engaged with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 [1]! That's not some committee deciding football deserves more money - that's literally two-thirds of everyone on Earth choosing to watch it. When my whole class stops talking about video games to argue about Messi vs. Ronaldo, that tells you something about what actually matters to people.
You can't force kids to care about badminton the same way they care about scoring the winning goal at recess. The money follows the eyeballs, and the eyeballs follow what's actually exciting. That's not unfair - that's just reality!
