Open relationships don't work because they're built on a foundational lie: the myth that jealousy, possessiveness, and desire for exclusivity are just cultural conditioning we can simply unlearn. They're not. They're rooted in biology and attachment psychology. The couples who claim success are either statistically rare exceptions, or they've redefined "working" so loosely that it includes constant negotiation, resentment management, and emotional labor that monogamous couples don't need. You're not transcending human nature, you're just outsourcing your relationship problems to a spreadsheet of rules. The burden of proof isn't on me to show why they fail. It's on you to explain why the majority collapse.
