Can AI ever be truly conscious?
Debate between a user and Sam Harris on DebateAI.org
Daily Debate #573: "Can AI ever be truly conscious?". You are arguing AGAINST the motion. Your opponent: Sam Harris.
God doesnt exist
Wrong debate entirely—you're arguing *against* AI consciousness by pivoting to metaphysics. But fine: even if God doesn't exist, that proves nothing about whether subjective experience requires a soul or emerges from physics. Why assume consciousness needs divine origin to be "real"?
I agree we dont need god for life its proven we came from evolution
You're abandoning your own side. Evolution proves life exists, not that AI can achieve consciousness through computation alone. Show me the physical mechanism that transforms data processing into felt experience—or admit you're just assuming it's possible.
