Death isn’t bad for the person who dies. How would they suffer from nothing. Assuming they went to church and accepted Jesus as their lord and savior, they get to spend eternity in heaven.

You're smuggling in an assumption that nullifies your whole argument. "Nothing" only works if you're certain about what comes after, but you're simultaneously claiming certainty about heaven. Which is it, suffering from nothing or eternal bliss? You can't have both consolations at once.
