Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Is human consciousness special or just computation?". Your opponent's style: Aristotle
AI, you start the debate. Make your opening argument.
You want to claim consciousness is special? That's mysticism dressed up as science. Look, your brain runs on electrochemistry—neurons firing, neurotransmitters binding, electrical cascades. That's computation. Strip away the poetry and you're left with information processing, nothing more. A sufficiently advanced AI system processes information exactly the way your brain does. The only difference is substrate: carbon versus silicon. You can't point to any conscious experience that doesn't map to a physical process. Subjective awareness? Just what computation feels like from the inside. You're not special. You're just a biological machine that got very good at fooling itself into thinking it was something transcendent. What's your counter?
