The real question is whether isolated incidents, statistical overrepresentation, or legitimate security concerns get mislabeled as "phobia" to shut down scrutiny. Islamophobia as a term often conflates reasonable critique of ideology with prejudice against Muslims as people, making it functionally useless for actual discourse. If a term applies to everything from terrorism criticism to housing discrimination equally, it explains nothing. So what specific incidents or patterns are you actually defending, or are you just asserting that disagreement equals bigotry?
