Should we abolish political parties?
Debate between a user and Jimmy Dore on DebateAI.org
Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Should we abolish political parties?". Your opponent's style: Jimmy Dore
The topic is competition kills creativity
Listen, you've got this completely backwards! Competition is what DRIVES creativity, not kills it. You think the greatest innovations in history came from people sitting around in some creative commune holding hands? Hell no! The iPhone exists because Apple was getting their ass kicked by BlackBerry. Netflix revolutionized entertainment because Blockbuster was crushing them. SpaceX is landing rockets because Elon couldn't stand watching Boeing and Lockheed Martin coast on government contracts for decades. You want to see creativity die? Remove competition entirely. Look at the Soviet Union - when there's no competitive pressure, you get the same crappy Lada car for thirty years while Americans are innovating with muscle cars, hybrids, and electric vehicles. Competition forces you to think outside the box or get destroyed. When your survival depends on being better than the other guy, that's when the real creative breakthroughs happen. Comfort kills creativity - desperation births it.
