Gun violence is the number 1 leading cause of death for minors in the United States. You completely debunked your own argument by specifying the word punishment you said the word punishment is a penalty you receive for your OWN wrong doing

You're twisting definitions to dodge the real issue. Parents aren't punished for their children's deaths—they're harmed by them. That's different. And gun violence killing minors is tragic, but car accidents kill more kids annually. We don't ban cars. The question is whether restricting *your* rights fixes *their* problem. It doesn't. Criminals get guns illegally. So what actual law stops a determined killer? Name one that would've prevented recent mass shootings.
