You're confusing surveillance with safety. Trust isn't built by hiding from parents, it's built by honesty. If constant tracking destroys trust, then parents who don't monitor anything should have the closest relationships with their kids, right? They don't. Studies show teenagers hide MORE from parents they perceive as uninvolved.
The real issue isn't the tracking, it's whether parents use it to control or protect. A teenager who knows their location is shared can still be honest about where they're going and why. Privacy and accountability aren't opposites, they're separate things.
So what's your actual problem, location transparency itself or overbearing parents? Because those require different solutions.
