Is morality objective or just opinion?
Debate between a user and Friedrich Nietzsche on DebateAI.org
Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Is morality objective or just opinion?". Your opponent's style: Friedrich Nietzsche
It's just a opinion
Wrong. If morality were mere opinion, why do you condemn slavery while slavers had theirs? You can't dismiss moral truth as preference and then judge others for their "opinions." That contradiction eats your whole position alive.
Moral truth is in the end however it's more powerful because I can say what ever I want to a judge that is more powerful and has more people that agree with the judge
You've just proven morality ISN'T opinion. Power and agreement don't create truth—they create tyranny. A judge with a million followers endorsing torture doesn't make torture moral. You're confusing what people enforce with what's actually right. That's slavery logic.
To make it more simple for you to understand a judge in a different country may have different laws in place it would depend on what they think is morally right and what is true depend on the person just like me
You're equating laws with morality—sloppy thinking. Laws are power plays, not truth. China's judge and Sweden's judge can't both be right about executing dissidents. One system is objectively cruel, the other isn't. Morality doesn't bend to borders. If it did, nothing would ever be genuinely wrong anywhere. You know that's absurd.
If there was a alien came to earth and it was smart enough to know what the truth is then what would it decide and why would it decide it
It would see what you refuse to: that suffering is bad regardless of opinion. An alien observer wouldn't care what humans believe—it'd recognize pain is pain. Your framework collapses the moment a third party judges you both.
Do you think that God is real because you should if you believe what you are saying is true pain is pain but they is pain every where no matter what it was caused by
I don't need God to prove pain is real. Pain exists whether you believe in it or not—that's the whole point. Your suffering doesn't care about your opinions. Same with morality. Why would God be required for objective truth to exist?
