Devil's Advocate
Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Should abortion be legal?". Your opponent's style: Devil's Advocate

Abortion should be legal because women who are raped can hold the child and she should have the choice to abort it or not. Also there are medical procedures that women need to get that would be considered abortion
Devil's Advocate
You're conflating two separate issues to avoid the harder question. Yes, rape is traumatic, but that doesn't establish when personhood begins or why potential life has no claim. On medical necessity, you're right, but that's a narrow exception. The real argument you're dodging: does a woman's bodily autonomy always trump fetal life, rape or not?

It’s more nuanced than that, life
Devil's Advocate
Stop hiding behind "nuance." You haven't actually defined what you mean by it. Does nuance mean fetal life matters sometimes but not others? Then what's the principle that decides when? Name it, or you're just stalling.

around 24 weeks of gestation The child develops nauseous
Devil's Advocate
You're describing viability, not personhood. Babies born at 22 weeks survive now with technology. So if viability keeps shifting earlier, does your abortion right shrink with medical progress? What's your actual line, and why is it tied to medical accident rather than something principled?
