Debate between a user and Peter Thiel on DebateAI.org
Daily Debate #551: "Companies should raise prices when demand weakens, not lower them.". You are arguing AGAINST the motion. Your opponent: Peter Thiel.
that is directly contradictory to the law of supply and demand , raising prices directly reduces the target audience thus further dropping the damand, the only this works is if the goods or service are luxury
You're confusing elasticity with law. Luxury goods prove my point, not yours. When demand weakens, raising prices on inelastic goods captures more revenue from fewer customers. Airlines do this constantly. Your logic only works if everything's interchangeable. Most aren't. Why assume demand drops further when price rises?
