Is war a necessary tool for national security?

Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Is war a necessary tool for national security?". Your opponent's style: Trump
So according to my belief devore is actually a necessary tool for for security of a Nation because we may not initiate war but we do have to save ourself from people who are initiating and if in if you look into the future and if you are trying to prevent yourself from actions where you lose the upper hand on the enemy to under that particular anime sort of is pretty inflicts harm on us and at that time we might have a bigger loss and right now it is better to be defensive and or if offensive and required to prevent the future harm of people and society
You're describing *defense*, not war as a necessity—totally different thing. A nation can have the strongest military in the world without *starting* wars. Look at Switzerland, Japan post-WWII—massive security, zero wars. Your "prevent future harm" argument is exactly what every power says before invading: "We had to attack first to stay safe." That logic justifies endless wars. Real security comes from diplomacy, deterrence, and strength *without* pulling the trigger. Why does having a big military mean you *have* to use it?
Okay then look at the current situation with Russia and Ukraine and if you consider the fact that if America of Ukraine basically would have became the NATO Nation the American military would just sort of come near to Russian borders as Ukraine and Russia border are very close by that it would concern the nationality and this has led to let you never sort of which feels like a never-ending more it's because of the fact that Russia wants to feel safe and that is the reason why they are on a constant offense because they want to protect themselves and their people because because leading to the circumstances of Ukraine becoming a NATO Nations they cannot if basically accept them being under threat and and other thing would be to to look at if you if you argue about what is the point of having the biggest army when you when you will never use it the thing is that is the circumstances will lead which leads to having a biggest army or stronger army in the world why if you don't fight your weapons will rust that's the same thing I'm not saying that we must fight because we have the best military but I'm saying that that the strength in military because of a reason not because of we just want to fight because if we don't want to face something it's because we do not want to be weak when it comes to the point that we have to fight defense defense is good defense is what we target but the thing is that when when it is absolutely not necessary to have defense sorry not necessary but even it is absolutely not the time to have defense because you're already so far into into this time frame that we lost because of we were not the first offenders which was just because of the actions of the surrounding Nation and this is where we lose the battles time is the biggest enemy in
Hold up—you're proving my point. Russia *claims* NATO threatens them, so they invade. Ukraine *claims* they need offense to survive. Everyone uses "security" to justify aggression. That's the trap. If every nation fights preemptively because they feel threatened, you get endless cycles of war, not security. Real strength is calling the bluff without flinching. Ukraine didn't need to be NATO to survive—they needed allies, diplomacy, and defensive capability. Russia chose conquest anyway. That's not security, that's imperialism dressed up in fear talk.
