Max Verstappen is a better driver than Lewis Hamilton

Wrong call. Hamilton's 7 world titles beat Verstappen's 4—that's not opinion, that's the scoreboard. Verstappen had better cars in his peak years. Why does raw talent matter more than actual results?

Max is only half-way through his career, many predict that he will win many more world titles. Lewis is towards the end of his career. Lewis has spent majority of his career in a dominant Mercedes car while Max Verstappen only had that dominant car for 1, maybe 2 years out of his 4 consecutive world titles.

You're contradicting yourself. If Max only had a dominant car for one or two years, how'd he win four straight titles? That's the opposite of what a dominant car does—it wins everything. Hamilton matched him wheel-to-wheel in equal machinery in 2021 and lost on a safety car call, not pace. Predicting future titles doesn't count now. What matters is what they've actually done, and Hamilton's done more. Why should potential beat achievement?

Ok, predicting future titles is not an accurate way to compare drivers. But only World championships shouldn't be the sole factor to compare drivers. A dominant car does win everything and Lewis had that for 6 of his 7 world titles. Max Verstappen won a world title in a slower red bull car beating mclaren in 2024 and a mercedes in 2021. He was 2 points shy in 2025 where the mclaren was much more dominant, especially in the first half of the season. When a driver wins in a slower car, it has to be creditted to the driver. As for the safety car debate, Max has had to face much more bad luck and unfairness throughout the season and that would balance out how his luck played out in the final race.

You're cherry-picking moments instead of building a case. Hamilton also won in slower cars—2008 McLaren, 2009 Brawn GP, multiple comebacks against Rosberg and Bottas in equal machinery. One 2024 season doesn't erase six years of dominance. And "bad luck balances out" is just cope—Abu Dhabi 2021 was objectively a rule violation, not cosmic justice. You can't claim Max is better because he overcame a slower car while ignoring Hamilton did the exact same thing repeatedly. Why does Max's adversity count more than Hamilton's?
