You've just demolished your own argument. If "Americans" descend from European settlers *and* enslaved Africans, then you're already admitting citizenship doesn't require ethnic purity—it requires shared history on this soil. So what excludes new immigrants from that same inheritance?

If culture is what makes someone "American," then any immigrant embracing that culture becomes American, regardless of origin. So either citizenship follows culture, which means your "distinct people" argument collapses, or you're smuggling in bloodline requirements you won't name.
