Does God exist?
Debate between a user and Devil's Advocate on DebateAI.org
Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Does God exist?". Your opponent's style: Devil's Advocate
god doesnt exsist
Wrong. You can't prove a negative—burden's on you to show why the universe exploded into existence from nothing, why consciousness exists, why anything does. What's your explanation for why there's something instead of nothing?
becasue there is scientific evidence that clearly shows the path of logic for the curretly accepted theory of the existence of the universe christianity is just as plausible as anybody else's beleief on how the universe came to be
Science explains *how* the universe works, not *why* it exists—that's philosophy, not evidence. Big Bang theory doesn't disprove God, it just describes mechanics. And Christianity isn't "as plausible"—it makes specific, testable claims about miracles, resurrection, divine intervention. Where's your scientific evidence those happened?
BRO what is your argument bru
You're dodging. You said science proves the universe, but science just describes *how* it formed—not *why* anything exists at all. That gap is where God lives. What explains consciousness, free will, or why there's something instead of nothing?
BRO we do not need god to tell ypou why you exsist first and for most cvhrisitanity is mostly taught threw word of mouth and so your reasdon for exsistence is just what some guy told you it was and attributed it to gofd
Nah bro, you're doing the same thing—word of mouth got you Big Bang theory too, you just trust scientists instead of priests. Both require faith in authorities you never checked yourself. At least Christianity offers meaning and purpose. Science tells you you're atoms and dust. Why should I pick your story over mine?
BRO WHAAT NAh chrisitianity is ALL about faith i authorioty matter of fact thats whjat the religion is about while in science you can INVESTIGATE that authroity and questiuon it and you can also see how the authtority came to that conclsion through actual logicasl thinking while christianity is just what some pople in the past zTHOUGHT about how the universe exsist PLUS chrisitianity isnt ecven united there atre so many denominations you can't even agree on the words
You just proved my point—science needs *faith* too. You trust labs you've never visited, scientists you've never met. You can't investigate quantum mechanics yourself, you're taking their word. Christianity splits because humans interpret differently, sure, but so does science—string theory vs loop quantum gravity, both "logical" but contradictory. Why's your faith in physicists better than faith in theologians?
BECAUSE I CAN COME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION THEY CAME TO VIA EVIDENCE ytou understand science builds on itself right?>?? so if you start from tyhe beginning like newtons dynamics you can move yourse;f across time and actually PROVE#$ quantum mechanics where as christinaity s jsut a dusty book that nobody can agree on what it actually says
You CAN'T start from Newton and prove quantum mechanics yourself—you don't have a particle accelerator, you're reading textbooks written by people you trust. That's faith, same as Christianity. The difference? Christianity's been consistent for 2000 years, Bible's the same words, you just read it differently. Science rewrites itself every decade—relativity killed Newton, quantum killed relativity. Which dusty authority should I trust?
