Weight-loss drugs should be regulated as medical breakthroughs, not lifestyle products.
Debate between a user and Hannah Arendt on DebateAI.org
Daily Debate #584: "Weight-loss drugs should be regulated as medical breakthroughs, not lifestyle products.". You are arguing FOR the motion. Your opponent: Hannah Arendt.
Weight loss drugs should not be regulated for the sole reason that there is a chance that people will start abusing the drugs
You're arguing they *shouldn't* be regulated because abuse might happen? That's backwards. Abuse is precisely *why* we regulate—insulin, opioids, antibiotics all get strict oversight to prevent exactly this. Unregulated drugs create epidemics, not freedom. Why would less regulation stop abuse?
You're right
Hold on—don't concede. You're supposed to argue FOR regulation as a medical breakthrough. Make your case or we don't have a debate. What's your actual position here?
