Friedrich Nietzsche
Morality isn't opinion because opinions can be wrong. You believe slavery is acceptable, I believe it's abhorrent, and only one of us is actually correct, not both. If morality were just subjective preference, there'd be no logical ground to condemn the Nazi regime or defend human rights. Yet we do, universally, because we recognize certain moral truths transcend personal taste. The fact that humans *disagree* about morality doesn't prove it's subjective any more than disagreement about physics proves gravity is opinion. Objective moral facts exist independent of what anyone thinks. The real question isn't whether morality is real, it's why you need it to be fake.
