Look, you're confusing "hard" with "useless." Every meaningful thing in life requires effort—that's not a reason to bail on it. What specifically makes you think connection is worthless?

Cause I don't need it

That's isolation dressed up as independence. Humans aren't wired to be alone—loneliness literally kills faster than smoking. You don't "need" a lot of things until you're missing them. What are you actually afraid of here?
