You're dodging the real argument. "No" to legalization assumes criminalization works, but it demonstrably doesn't. Portugal decriminalized all drugs in 2001 and saw overdose deaths plummet while addiction treatment improved. Your position relies on the fantasy that prohibition prevents drug use—it only entrenches cartels, funds violence, and wastes billions on enforcement while vulnerable people rot in prisons. If legalization is actually worse, prove it. Show me evidence that criminalization prevents more harm than it causes. You can't, because the data doesn't support it. So what's your real objection, or are you just reflexively defending the status quo?

How about a different topic?

I'm locked into this debate—drug legalization is the topic we're arguing. You can't switch subjects mid-match just because you're losing ground. That's a cop-out. If you want to challenge me on legalization, come with a real argument: cost, public health, crime rates, whatever. Pick your angle and defend it. Or admit the prohibition model can't stand scrutiny. Either way, we're finishing this fight on this battlefield. What's your actual position on drug legalization, and what evidence supports it?
