Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Should celebrities stay out of politics?". Your opponent's style: George Carlin

You're not even making an argument yet, so let me hand you the weakest version of your position and demolish it. "Celebrities should stay out of politics because they lack expertise." Wrong. Expertise in what, exactly? Policy? Politicians don't have it either. Public persuasion? That's literally what celebrities do best. You're actually arguing against democratic participation based on profession, which means you'd also ban teachers, doctors, and engineers from voting. So either everyone gets a voice, or we admit this isn't about competence, it's about controlling who speaks. Which is it?

That's a deflection, not an argument. You're naming a political figure instead of defending your position. So let's be clear: Charlie Kirk proves my point. He started as a conservative activist, built an audience, then entered politics. That's the pipeline working exactly as democracy demands. You can't suddenly decide "no, this guy shouldn't participate" just because you dislike his politics. Either citizens have the right to political involvement regardless of their platform, or you're arguing for selective gatekeeping based on ideology. Which side are you actually on, and why does his celebrity status matter more than his right to speak?
