ill give the argument so if you take into perspective longevity and what the San antonio Spurs did in the 2000's you can easily make the case that they are a better dynatsy then the warriors for example the Kobe and Shaq led Lakers were going to go undefeated the only reason why they lost that game to Philidelpha is because they had 10 days off they could have for sure gon undefeated they beat the San Antonio Spurs but next year what team beat them that San Antonio Spurs team with people who weren't at their peak like Tony Parker manu ginobli they weren't at their peak and that San Antonio Spurs team beat the best team in the NBA at that time with just developing people which is extremely impressive if you think about it then then in 2005 they won with their peak beating the reigning NBA champions the pistons which had a good young team then then in 2007 they swept the lebron James led Cleveland cavaliers then in 2008 they went to the western conference finals lost to the extremely good Lakers team who in the next year won the finals with Kobe Bryant and Paul gasol and is there any warriors players with a bigger defense impact then tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen in the 2000s and when Tim Duncan was older 2014 he and kawhi Leonard led the team back and won a championship so this San Antonio Spurs team had a 16 year dynasty getting to the finals winning champions even when Tim Duncan is older so this has to go to the San Antonio spurs
You're confusing longevity with peak dominance. The Warriors won 73 games in 2016 and back-to-back titles with four all-stars, then added KD and won two more straight. The Spurs never had that firepower simultaneously. Yes, Duncan was incredible, but peak Steph Curry revolutionized basketball—he changed how the game is played. Your "developing players beat the Lakers" point actually proves my case: it took a weaker opponent to dethrone them. The Warriors' peak was sharper and deeper. Why does winning for 16 years matter if you're rarely the best team doing it?
that's not what a dynasty is they only did that for 3 years and remember in 2016 they didn't even win the title who did they lose to? that Cleveland cavaliers team with potentially the 2nd best player in that year in lebron James a decently developed kyrie irving they only won 57 games and still beat the 73-9 warriors coming back from a 3-1 defict and that's why they had to add KD they could not beat bron and the Cavs which in the next year lebron didn't have kyrie Irving or Kevin love took the cavs to the finals won 2 games against the warriors the team who had better. curry didn't revlutionize basketball he enhanced the 3 point shot that's all
Hold up—a dynasty IS sustained excellence, which proves the Spurs. But you just admitted the Warriors needed KD because they couldn't win without him. That's weakness, not dominance. The Spurs won with the same core for nearly two decades. And Curry absolutely revolutionized the game—teams went from 20 threes a night to 35. That's not "enhancing," that's transforming how basketball works. The Warriors peaked for three years and cracked under pressure. The Spurs? Consistent killers. Which one actually held power longer?
? why would they be weakness they couldn't beat lebron without KD and when they added KD they won that's strength you that's just a Strawman fallacy on you because that's not what I said.
You're right, my bad—adding KD was strength, not weakness. But that proves my point: they needed a third star to stay dominant. The Spurs won with Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili for years without recruiting a fourth superstar. Which dynasty is actually more impressive, the one that had to super-team or the one that didn't?
the Spurs is more impressive beating a super team wit the 2003 Lakers which were the best team at that time so your conceding to the Spurs being better when your affirming the warriors just confirm that
No I'm not conceding anything. You said Warriors needed KD to win—I agreed they did, then flipped it: that's why they're better. They identified the problem and solved it with the best move in NBA history. The Spurs never had that killer instinct to go get their third star when they needed one. Why didn't they?
because they didn't need a 3rd star to win they were winning every other year against teams like the 2003 Lakers the reigning detroit pistons team and when Tim Duncan was older who bounced them that year dominating and winning a championship every other year and getting to atleast the western conference finals which the west had the most competition of all time in the 2000's with teams like the Kobe led Lakers the phoneix suns led by Steve Nash and amare stoudimaire and that so we can just conclude after you respond
You're cherry-picking. "Every other year" isn't a dynasty, it's inconsistency. The Warriors won three straight titles—that's sustained dominance. And the West wasn't harder in the 2000s, you're romanticizing it. The Warriors faced the 73-win Spurs, the LeBron Heat, the KD Thunder. The Spurs lost plenty of years you're just forgetting them. Duncan was great, but peak Curry with Klay and Dray beat everybody they faced for three years straight. Consistency beats nostalgia every time.
the warriors were never consistent either they won b2b only one year and that was the only time they ever won a chip since 2015 they didn't win again till 2022 so your talking about consistency whent he warrilors are even consistent and the Spurs were never 73 they never faced the lebron heat and won so your just bugging they didn't \win in 2016 so it was only 2 years straight and they needed KD to win like I said the Spurs needed fewer stars to dominate longer it snot who had the greater team its about who dominated longer and had thee greatest dynatsy
You just proved the Spurs case yourself. Warriors won 2015, lost 2016, needed KD to win 2017-2019, then nothing till 2022. That's not a dynasty, that's a window. Spurs made the Finals in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014—with the same core, no super-team moves. You can't beat that consistency. A dynasty is staying on top, not dipping out and coming back. Spurs dominated longer with less firepower. That's literally the definition of a better dynasty.
