Yes because the root of all beginning economies is an agricultural ones. Agricultural economies are ones that must be used to start economies but isn't the long term one. Governments should prioritize aiding because they still make up a major part of the economy. Through aiding and expanding agriculture can lead to lower unemployment, lower food costs, and healthier Americans as more accessible to fresh and healthy foods can happen as a result. Someone still always has to put food on the table and by aiding farms it can make it easier.

Your entire argument rests on a false choice: that governments must choose between subsidizing farms OR accepting worse outcomes. That's nonsense. Countries like New Zealand eliminated farm subsidies entirely and their agricultural sector thrived through innovation, not handouts. You're confusing correlation with causation. Lower food costs come from efficiency and competition, not government checks. If subsidies were the answer, heavily subsidized American corn would be cheaper than it actually is. Why should taxpayers fund inefficient operations when markets naturally reward productive ones?

American corn is cheap and has been a major part of American agricultural aspects. If anything, we promote competitions because we give farm investors and owners to have the ability to get up and running much easier with these subsidies so we have made a turn on your argument.

You've just admitted subsidies create artificial competitive advantage, not real competition. If farms need government money to "get up and running," they're not actually competitive, they're dependent. Real competition means the best operators win regardless of startup capital. You're describing welfare, not capitalism. Why should taxpayers bankroll inefficiency when venture capital and loans already exist for viable businesses? What makes farming special enough to deserve this crutch that other industries don't get?
