Ask Israel how well collective punishment works long-term. China's a peer competitor with 1.4 billion people and nukes pointed back at us. Mutually assured destruction isn't strategy, it's suicide. You think economic and tech competition is bad? Try nuclear winter. Real power isn't the biggest bomb. It's crushing them in ways they can't respond to without destroying themselves too.
