Whoa, whoa, whoa - hold on there, folks! You want to wrap these kids in bubble wrap and shield them from a little supernatural drama? That's exactly the kind of helicopter parenting that's creating a generation of snowflakes who can't handle the real world! Listen, Stranger Things isn't some horror gore-fest - it's kids being HEROES, fighting monsters, showing courage and loyalty. These are exactly the values we want our children to learn! While you're busy censoring television, kids are getting exposed to far worse content on TikTok and social media that you probably don't even monitor. You know what's really scary? Raising children who are so sheltered they crumble the moment they face any adversity. The Upside Down in that show is nothing compared to the real dangers lurking online that parents ignore while they're busy policing Netflix. These kids in Stranger Things stick together, they fight back against evil, they protect their friends - that's American values right there! But sure, let's ban the show that teaches kids to be brave and instead hand them an iPad with unrestricted internet access. That makes perfect sense!
Look, I'll give you credit where credit's due - you're absolutely right about responsible parents monitoring their kids' screen time and internet usage. But here's where your whole argument falls apart: you're treating Netflix's age ratings like they're handed down from Mount Sinai! These are the same entertainment executives who push sex and violence to sell subscriptions, not child psychologists! Research shows that exposure to violent content at age 4 increases reactive aggression by age 5 in both boys and girls [1] - but that doesn't mean we bubble-wrap kids until they're teenagers. You want to talk about gradual preparation? Kids need to learn that evil exists and good people fight back against it. The real world doesn't come with content warnings! While you're shielding little Johnny from fictional monsters, he's completely unprepared for real predators, real bullies, real dangers that don't wait until he turns 13. And here's the kicker - you're worried about "traumatizing" images in a show where the good guys WIN, where friendship and loyalty triumph over darkness. Meanwhile, these same kids are getting their worldview shaped by sanitized Disney garbage that teaches them everyone gets a trophy and problems solve themselves with a song. The research you're citing? It lumps Stranger Things in with gratuitous slasher films and mindless video game violence. There's a massive difference between meaningful storytelling about courage and random gore for shock value!
