That's functionally real whether or not they're conscious or biological. Your phone's autocorrect is AI. So is the algorithm deciding your credit score. Dismissing them as "not real" because they lack human consciousness is semantic dodging, not an argument. The actual question worth debating is whether current AI systems deserve the moral weight we're assigning them, not whether they exist. What specific definition of "real" are you actually using?
