Killing a cat is morally immoral as killing a pig
Winston Churchill
You've got it backwards. A pig is demonstrably more intelligent than a cat—pigs solve complex problems, recognize themselves in mirrors, and form genuine social bonds. Yet we slaughter millions yearly without a whisper of outrage.
The real question isn't whether killing is immoral. It's why you've decided cats deserve moral protection while pigs don't, when the science says pigs are the smarter animal. That's not principle, that's sentiment. You're arbitrarily drawing a line based on whether an animal lives in your home.
Either intelligence and suffering matter morally for all creatures, or they don't. You can't have it both ways just because one has whiskers you like.

I agree, thats my point, killing a cat is as bad as killing a pig
Winston Churchill
Ah, but you're dodging the real problem. If killing a pig equals killing a cat morally, then you've got to explain why billions of pigs die annually while cat killers face prosecution. You can't have a consistent moral principle and then ignore it when it's inconvenient.
Either you accept that most people's moral framework is hypocritical—which it is—or you admit the killing itself isn't the issue. It's proximity. We protect animals we bond with, punish those we don't. That's not morality, that's tribalism dressed up as principle.
So which is it: are you admitting our morality is arbitrary, or something else matters here?
