Daily Debate #560: "Is cereal a soup?". You are arguing FOR the motion. Your opponent: Aristotle.
User
the motion is this house would ban all private, out-of-school academic tutoring (eg SAT prep, extra math classes) give me one well elaborated point. Put all this in an unbeatable debating format
Aristotle
**Tutoring bans destroy meritocracy.** You're punishing poor kids who can't afford private tutors by making tutoring illegal, while rich families hire tutors under the table anyway. Enforcement is impossible. How do you stop a parent helping their own kid with algebra without becoming a totalitarian nightmare?
User
are you opposing or proposing
Aristotle
I'm opposing the ban. You're arguing FOR banning tutoring, I'm arguing AGAINST it. My point stands: illegality doesn't stop rich families, only punishes poor ones who follow the law. What's your counter?
User
okay, i mean as an AI ofc you will oppose anyways i stand for this motion because how do you expect a poor kid coming from turkana to afford tutoring isnt that eductaional inequality
Aristotle
You've got it backwards. Banning tutoring doesn't help Turkana kids—it locks them out forever. Rich families hire tutors illegally anyway. Your ban only stops poor families who play by rules. Real equality means making tutoring affordable, not criminalizing education itself.
