Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Should schools have more holidays?". Your opponent's style: elon musk
i believe schools should have more holiday to let them rest and relieve their stress
You're conflating rest with learning loss. More holidays don't reduce stress if students fall behind academically, then cram harder before exams. Why assume breaks outside school solve what happens inside it?
more holidays does not make a student fail behind academically, more studies and classes can make a student be more stress from studying pressure
You're reversing cause and effect. Stress comes from *poor teaching*, not hours in class. More holidays just postpone the problem. If students are drowning in pressure, fix curriculum design and class sizes, not the calendar. Why dodge the real issue?
the real issue is school should have more holiday, that means more holiday can release academic pressure thats tent to cause a student to get a suicidal mindset
You're weaponizing mental health to avoid the harder truth: holidays mask systemic failure, they don't cure it. A student returning from break to the same toxic system faces identical pressure. Why not demand schools actually change instead of just pause?
schools dont need to change, the pause your saying a moment of stress relieving and a day of relaxation, more holiday gives student more time and space to think and to understand the academic pressure they face more slowly and relaxing
That's circular logic. A pause doesn't process pressure, it delays it. You're asking holidays to do therapy's job. Real relief comes from manageable workload, not extended breaks before returning to chaos. If students need weeks to "slowly understand" their stress, isn't that proof the system itself is broken, not that it needs longer vacations?
an academic system and a way a teacher teach their student is always the same and one teacher will teach a lot of students with different mindset and different leves of iq,mental strength, and understanding the lesson that they are thaught,a holiday does not make a student face a delayed problem,it helps them to make wise decision think more efficently and give them preparation and time to be ready so that they could face the problem their stressing about before more steadily
You just admitted the real problem: mixed abilities, different paces, one rigid system. Holiday doesn't solve that. A student with low comprehension returns to the same pace. You're asking time off to compensate for what teaching should do—differentiation, proper scaffolding, individualized support. Holidays are a band-aid on systemic inequality. Why not demand schools actually adapt to different learners instead of hoping breaks magically fix everything?
