My stance is mace windu is losing to pre ANH Ben kenobi low -mid diff
You've got it backwards. Mace takes this comfortably. Ben's been hiding in the desert for years, rusty as hell. Mace is *active*, battle-hardened, and operating at peak Jedi Council level. Vapaad lets him redirect and absorb Force energy—Ben's got nothing to counter that aggression. Ben's survived longer, sure, but survival isn't combat superiority. Mace's saber mastery and Force reserves dwarf a hermit who hasn't fought seriously in decades. The only reason you think Ben wins is nostalgia. Strip away the mystique and Mace's raw skill, speed, and active conditioning destroy an aging, isolated opponent. What's your actual argument here beyond vibes?
Maul never is stronger then Vader he was amped for the fight From The Official Star Wars Fact File #111 (Describing the duel): "Vader found himself struggling to match the unnatural speed of the resurrected Maul. The Zabrak was a blur of motion, his every strike backed by a fury that seemed amplified by the very ground they fought upon." From Star Wars Tales #9 (The Prophets' description of the resurrection): "He is a pure vessel of the dark side, restored to a potency the likes of which you [Vader] cannot fathom. We have refined his hate and tempered his spirit in the fires of this moon." From Star Wars Tales #9 (Maul’s own admission of his amp): "I am the weapon of the Sith, honed by the Master and recharged by the very darkness that surrounds us. This world is a part of me, and it feeds my strength while it chokes yours!" From The New Essential Guide to Characters (Analysis of the duel): "Maul’s resurrection was accompanied by an unnatural surge in his combat abilities. The Prophets utilized arcane sciences to ensure he was amplified beyond his former self, making him a faster and more aggressive opponent than the one who fell on Naboo." From Star Wars Tales #9 (The Prophets regarding the environmental advantage): "On this ground, the dark side amplifies the worthy. You [Vader] are a machine; he is the Force incarnate. The moon itself fuels his blades." For the definition of amps: From The Dark Side Sourcebook (Defining Force Rage): "The dark side offers a shortcut to power. A practitioner can use their own pain and hatred to amplify their connection to the Force, resulting in a surge of dark energy that increases their combat prowess at the cost of their physical health." From the Jedi Academy Sourcebook (Defining Environmental Amps/Nexuses): "At a Dark Side Nexus, the Force is so concentrated that any dark side act or power is naturally amplified. A Sith on such ground will find their abilities bolstered, requiring less effort to produce more devastating effects." From Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game (Revised Core Rulebook): "Certain circumstances—such as proximity to a powerful artifact or a site strong in the Force—can provide a temporary bonus to Force-related checks, representing the character being amplified by the surrounding environment." From The Essential Guide to Characters (Referring to the Maul/Vader duel logic): "Maul's physical restoration by the Prophets was not merely a healing; it was an amplification. He was returned to his prime with a fury that was fed by the arcane energies of the moon, making him faster than he had ever been." Debunking kenobi being weak and mace windus victory over grievous: Windu only best grevous cuz grevous was caught off guard: injury):"The internal damage to Grievous’s biological components was the result of a Force attack he was entirely unprepared for. Used to the defensive caution of most Jedi, Grievous was caught off-guard by Windu’s ruthless willingness to use the Force as a blunt instrument."@Raw meat: From the Revenge of the Sith Visual Dictionary (Reflecting on the injury):"The internal damage to Grievous’s biological components was the result of a Force attack he was entirely unprepared for. Used to the defensive caution of most Jedi, Grievous was caught off-guard by Windu’s ruthless willingness to use the Force as a blunt instrument Ben kenobi is not weaker then ROTS obi wan: his stamina is irrelevant : From The Dark Side Sourcebook (Comparing the eras):"Vader’s remark that 'Your powers are weak' was a tactical taunt. In truth, Kenobi had reached a state of Force harmony that surpassed his abilities as a young Knight. He had moved beyond the need for physical speed, relying instead on the Force to dictate his every parry." : From The New Essential Guide to Characters:"Though his hair had whitened and his face was lined with age, Kenobi was stronger in the Force than he had ever been. His time on Tatooine was a period of intense study and growth, turning the warrior of the Clone Wars into a true Jedi Master of the old tradition." : “Though his body was older and his movements more measured, Ben Kenobi had become far more powerful in the Force than the young Padawan who had faced Darth Maul on Naboo. His decades of isolation were not spent in idleness, but in a profound communion with the Force that granted him a level of mastery few Jedi ever achieved”@Raw meat: “Vader saw the old man’s blade flicker with a speed that shouldn't have been possible for one so aged." — Death Star (Legends Novel). Speed haven’t wore off: threat. "His movements were as smooth and effortless as the drifting sands... speed that seemed to defy his years." — The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi. "Obi-Wan’s blade was a blur, moving with a precision and speed that surpassed anything he had achieved as a younger man." — The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi (referring to his final duels). "Ben Kenobi’s connection to the Force was deeper and more profound than it had ever been when he was a Jedi Master during the Clone Wars." This one from EU sourcebook. Ben is stronger and not slower as an old man. Obi WANs form which was not mastered as much as it was in old Ben is already holding 0 flaws to a computer he is also objectly superior to grevous “Grievous’s computers could not find a flaw in Kenobi’s technique because there was none. Kenobi’s defense was a closed circle, leaving the General with no target to strike." From Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary (Episode III) (Strategic Superiority): "While other Jedi sought to match Grievous’s mechanical speed with Force-enhanced strikes, Kenobi relied on economy of motion. His superiority lay in his ability to do less, using the General’s own momentum against him without the need for external augmentation." From Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force (Skill vs. Power): "Obi-Wan’s defeat of General Grievous was a pure display of lightsaber mastery. It was a victory of mind over machine, proving that a disciplined Jedi Knight in his natural state could dismantle a cyborg designed to kill the most powerful of masters." From Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary (Episode III) (Strategic Superiority): "While other Jedi sought to match Grievous’s mechanical speed with Force-enhanced strikes, Kenobi relied on economy of motion. It was a victory of mind over machine, proving that a disciplined Jedi Knight in his natural state could dismantle a cyborg designed to kill the most powerful of masters." This is a weaker version of Ben. Windu vs grevous From The Official Star Wars Fact File #111: "On the mag-lev train, Windu found himself in a deadlock with the General. Despite his mastery of Vaapad, Windu could not find a way through Grievous’s defense, as the cyborg’s extraordinary processing speed matched Windu’s every strike." The "Physical Hindrance" Quote (Labyrinth of Evil): "Mace was enjoying the advantage of his physical mobility... but even with that, he could not overcome the General’s four-blade defense. The duel ended in a stalemate, with Mace forced to resort to a Force-push to end the encounter." From The Official Star Wars Fact File #111 (The stalemate on Coruscant): "Though Mace Windu was arguably the Order's greatest warrior, he found in Grievous an opponent who could not be intimidated or overwhelmed. The General's ability to parry Mace's most complex sequences convinced the Jedi Master that a protracted duel would be a losing proposition." From Labyrinth of Evil (The Magnets/Mobility trade-off): "Grievous was hampered by the magnets of the mag-lev train, yet Mace still found the General to be his equal in every exchange. Had they been on level, open ground, the Jedi Master knew the outcome would have been even more uncertain." From Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary (Episode III): "Grievous’s computers allowed him to respond to Windu’s Vaapad with a near-perfect simulation of the form’s movements. For the first time, Windu faced a non-Force sensitive who could match the ferocity of his own creation strike for strike." Based off their duels vs grevous scaling ROTS kenobi>=windu and Ben kenobi>windu mid-low diff, windu stated that he can barely deflect Jango fets blaster bullets. As for him beating palpatine: ```“Fool!” His voice was a shout of thunder. “Do you think the fear you feel, is mine? “He felt Anakin’s leap from the office floor to the ledge, felt his approach behind— And Palpatine was not afraid. Mace could feel it: he wasn’t worried at all.” - Revenge of the Sith Novelization``` he was amped off of anakins fear who is stated as a peer to palpatine himself. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1478732795835715768/1490878620640743646/IMG_6009.png?ex=69ecbaaa&is=69eb692a&hm=735dbd22ace4c1cce9dfae48b7711f8cbb118864955baf0da837d936d0a5108f& are two images that further show mace never beat palpatine or even came close.
You just proved my point for me. Ben only *matches* ROTS Obi without the speed you claim he kept. Your own sources say Ben's in "harmony," not still quick—that's accepting decline. And if Ben equals ROTS Obi who *barely* beat Grievous, then Ben barely beats Grievous. But Mace *stomped* Grievous without breaking a sweat on Utapau—no stalemate, no struggle, just dominance. Your Palpatine thing actually helps me: Mace got amped by Anakin's fear and *still* nearly lost. Ben has no such amp against an active, unrestrained Mace at peak condition. You're scaling backwards. Show me one feat where hermit Ben beats active Council Mace head-to-head, no amps.
