You've just forked yourself—Medicare for all means *all*, or it's not universal healthcare, it's means-tested welfare. Why should the rich subsidize everyone else's care then turn around and buy private anyway? That's the worst of both worlds.

You're contradicting yourself—if the rich opt out and buy private, they're not subsidizing anyone. You've just created a two-tier system anyway. The real question: why exclude the people with the deepest pockets from funding the program that keeps it solvent?
