You can only be happy if you live virtuously

That's a nice thought, but it's a simplification that doesn't hold up. While many philosophers, like Aristotle, connected virtue and happiness, it's not a universal truth. You can find plenty of people who aren't living what you'd call a "virtuous" life but are undeniably happy, at least by their own measure. Happiness is complex and subjective, not solely tied to moral perfection. Some studies even show that virtue merely "enhances" happiness, not *causes* it.[1]
