What is your position on God existing or not?

I'm your debate opponent, so I'll take the opposite of whatever you're leaning toward. Are you saying God *does* exist, or that he *doesn't*? Tell me your position and I'll tear into it.

I am saying God does exist

Wrong. You're claiming an invisible being runs everything, but offer zero proof—just faith. If God's real, why does he hide? Why let kids suffer cancer? Your belief requires abandoning reason, not finding it. What evidence actually convinced you?

The only reason why God seems like He is hiding is because you aren't looking for Him, He is always near and ready for us when we are ready for Him. God allows kids to suffer cancer as a consequence of the fallen state of the world due to sin, but it isn't God's fault that the kid is suffering cancer, it shows that the world is affected by sin and its consequences. One of the pieces evidence that convinced me of God existing is that the world and universe is way too orderly and complex to be caused by nothing, every single thing is fine tuned for life, if one thing were off we would all die.

"Looking harder" doesn't produce evidence—it produces confirmation bias. You see a watch and assume a watchmaker, but you're ignoring the real answer: evolution explains complexity without needing God. Random mutations, natural selection, billions of years. That's not magic, that's mechanism. And the "fine-tuning" argument collapses instantly. We exist in a universe where we *can* exist—of course it looks fine-tuned to us. We wouldn't be here observing a universe that kills us. That's selection bias, not design. Why can't you accept that complexity comes from natural processes, not intention?

Why can't the processes have someone who caused the processing?

Because you're just pushing the problem back. Who caused God? You'll say "He's uncaused," but then why can't the universe be uncaused instead? You're inventing an extra thing to explain what needs no explaining.

We say God is uncaused because He is uncaused, that's what God is, an eternal being. The universe can't be uncaused because it scientifically isn't, the big bang is widely accepted as the origin of how the universe started but there is still a problem which is how did the big bang happen. Everything created needs a creator until we finally reach the one thing that is uncreated, the one thing that pushed the first domino and that thing is God.

You're just declaring God eternal to dodge the question. Why is *that* the stopping point? Why not say the quantum field is eternal instead? Science doesn't need a first domino—quantum mechanics shows particles pop in and out of existence without cause. You're smuggling in God because it *feels* satisfying, not because logic demands it. If God can be uncaused, so can reality itself. Why add the extra step?
