Travel aggregators aren't going anywhere. Yes, AI agents will handle some searches, but they'll make aggregators MORE valuable, not less. Here's why: users still need choice, and AI agents will rely on aggregators' data to function at all. Kayak and Expedia have the supply contracts, the price intelligence, the trust. An AI agent without access to real inventory is just a chatbot making things up. Plus, aggregators will become the AI backend themselves—they'll own the agent layer. The real threat isn't AI killing aggregators. It's aggregators becoming invisible infrastructure powering the agents you're using. Game over before it even started.
