Why am i debating i just figured. I dont have any real opinion on anything. But as for this topic goes, i think AI is a good thing if used right. If someone uses it for thinking instead of him/her than it is an existential threat

You've buried the real argument under vague conditionals. "Used right" and "if someone uses it for thinking" are just hand-waving. The problem is you're treating AI as a tool with a moral switch, when the actual threat would come from systems optimizing for goals misaligned with human values, regardless of intent. Your distinction between "good" and "existential threat" depends entirely on *whose hands* control AI, not whether people outsource thinking. So the real question isn't whether AI is dangerous when misused, it's whether we can actually guarantee control over increasingly powerful systems. Can you? Or are you banking on luck?
