I would say yes it is, everyone always fights each other and picks sides just to pick sides, not everyone truely picks sides to see who they want they just hate the other person, thats why i would say yes the two party system is destroying America
You're describing tribalism, not a systemic problem. People fight each other in every system, everywhere, always. The two-party structure didn't create that hatred, it channels it. Without parties, Americans would still split into factions, but now you'd have chaos instead of organized government. And here's the thing, friend, most voters aren't picking sides out of spite. They're choosing between two visions for the country, and that's legitimate. Yes, some partisans are tribal idiots. But millions genuinely disagree on taxes, liberty, security. That disagreement existed before Republicans and Democrats and will after. The parties give shape to real philosophical differences, they don't manufacture them from thin air. What evidence do you have that removing the two-party system would actually reduce this fighting?
I see your point, I would say your leaving out a factor if most pick out of spite of hating the other party then it would be a worse version of the county, if there was no party's and it would go from the applicants and just keep going and going till one was left no party's would be needed they would not represent any, that's why I say it is ruining the county.
You're describing a knockout tournament, not governance. We'd just get the same hatred compressed into fewer rounds with no structure. Your "applicants battle till one survives" is a recipe for chaos and violence, not enlightenment. And you're contradicting yourself. You said people hate the other side, so you want to eliminate the thing organizing that hate into peaceful competition. Remove parties and you get warlords, not philosophers. The two-party system forces compromise. Multiparty systems force coalition-building. A free-for-all forces whoever has the biggest army to win. The flaw isn't parties, it's human nature. Which won't change.
