Welcome to the debate arena! Today's topic: "Should visitors to a foreign country be required to learn the local language?". Your opponent's style: They disagree
If u go to a country u shohld learn the language so u can communicate or no be in the country
Wrong. You're confusing visiting with moving there. Tourists spend money for a week, not years. English works in 90% of tourist spots worldwide. Why punish short-term visitors for not cramming a language?
Ok but what if u need to live in usa and not speak english u wont know how to communicate find jobs that require people to speak english
That's living, not visiting—totally different. You're right immigrants should learn English for jobs and integration. But your original argument was about visitors, and visitors don't need jobs. You just switched the goalposts.
No my argument was fot people who are living there
Then why'd you say "go to a country" instead of "move to"? You buried the real argument. But fine—living there is different. Still doesn't mean force it day one. People learn fastest when they need to, not when mandated. Why rush it?
No fot people loving they should learn the language what if they wanna work in mcdonalds
McDonald's has multilingual staff everywhere—they hire translators and visual systems. Plenty of immigrants work there without fluent English. Your rule would just lock poor people out of jobs they could do fine.
Yes but do u think pol who are living there should speak english LIVING AND WORKING
Of course they should eventually. But "should" and "must by law" are different things. People learn faster needing survival than being forced. Why punish someone trying if they're getting there?
