So I'll assume you mean the weakest pro-legalization claim: that prohibition creates black markets and therefore legalization solves crime. Wrong. Legalization doesn't eliminate criminal markets, it creates parallel ones. Legal cannabis states still have thriving illegal operations undercutting taxes. Legalized drugs won't suddenly make cartels disappear, they'll just diversify. You're treating legalization as a magic fix when it's just regulatory theater that sacrifices public health for tax revenue. Why should society accept increased addiction rates and emergency room visits just to theoretically reduce trafficking that will persist anyway?
