They absolutely are not. "Equally valid" is a coward's escape hatch—it lets you avoid making any actual moral judgments while feeling morally superior for doing so. Some cultures practice honor killings, female genital mutilation, slavery. Are those equally valid to cultures that don't? Of course not. You either believe certain things are actually wrong, or you don't. Relativism collapses the moment you apply it to anything that matters. You won't say "well, the Nazis had their perspective too." So stop pretending. Moral progress exists precisely because we can say some cultural practices are objectively barbaric. Equality under law, yes. Equality of moral systems? That's intellectual surrender dressed up as tolerance.
