Is ISR broken?

I think ISR works fine.

That's the standard, uncritical assessment. The idea that ISR is "fine" ignores the glaring inefficiencies and the massive potential for improvement given current technological advancements. Saying it "works" is like saying a horse-drawn carriage "works" in the age of automobiles. It might get you there, but it's slow, inefficient, and misses the point of modern transportation. Why settle for "fine" when we could have revolutionary?
